Meteor nozzle for drain and pipe cleaning

High standards of hygiene are vital for food or beverage processing companies. Not only the processing equipment must be kept clean, but also the drainage piping and tubing are critical areas when it comes to maintaining a high level of hygiene and food safety.

Cleaning these must be an essential step in the cleaning procedures of any food or beverage processing facility. If they are overlooked or neglected, they can become a major source of bacterial growth and contamination and eventually spread, resulting in contamination of other areas in the processing facilities.

Benefits of low-pressure technology with boosted water

When it comes to cleaning drainage piping and tubing, it can be difficult to loosen the residues inside the pipe. With our special meteor nozzle connected to a low-pressure boosted water supply, piping systems are flushed clean and sanitized.

Cleaning the piping system with high-pressure equipment results in excessive aerosol formation that can cause cross-contamination because the bacteria become airborne. Applying low-pressure cleaning with boosted water significantly reduces the formation of aerosols. Moreover, the low-pressure technology increases the volume of water flushed through the pipe, and better heat transmission ensures a faster dissolvement of residues inside the piping.

The process of cleaning a pipe with the meteor nozzle

Fix the meteor nozzle to the hose. Depending on the nature of the supply station and the requirements of the piping system, the nozzle is applicable for rinsing, foam application and disinfection. The pressure of the water will push the nozzle through the piping system. The minimum pressure is 20 bar. The below process includes all three cleaning steps:

  • Insert the nozzle and hose in the pipe
  • Select Rinse on the function selector
  • Turn on the water
  • Push the hose through the piping system
  • When it cannot be pushed further, switch the function selector to Foam
  • Steadily pull the hose and nozzle back through the piping system to apply foam to the entire system
  • Allow for contact time
  • Switch the function selector to Rinse
  • Push the hose through the piping system to rinse
  • When it cannot be pushed further, switch the function selector to Disinfect
  • Steadily pull the hose back through the piping system to apply disinfectant to the entire system
  • Allow for contact time
  • Switch the function selector to Rinse
  • Push the hose through the piping system again to rinse and also rinse as it is pulled back
